[Solved] DoubleSpace virus alert

Postby plsm5882 » Thu Sep 01, 2016 1:24 pm

Hi.

I use G Data AntiVirus (https://www.gdatasoftware.com) version 25.2.0.2.

It has quarantined as shown below:

------
Virus: Gen:Trojan.Heur.DP.7SW@aS9hupb (Engine A)

The idle scan has found an infected file.

File: pbitlocker.exe
Directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Simon King\ZIPmagic 16\Applications\DoubleSpace
------

If this is a false positive (which I really hope it is), then I think you need to alert them to that. In the mean time I'll scan that file with other tools and write here what I find.

Microsoft Safety Scanner, McAfee Stinger, Comodo Security Essentials and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware did not see it as a virus. Some did see it as a Potentially Unwanted Program however. Could that be because it is locked for access, so the programs can't actually scan the file?

False positive.

Please escalate the false positive to the anti virus vendor directly.

Note: The DoubleSpace binaries are not locked.
