Hi,
I was thrilled to find an application that relies not only on compression algorithms but employs deduplication as well and support win10 at the same time, for the structure of some of ma data partitions make huge gains from dedup and little to none from transparent compression... but in another post I found out the deduplication is the one by MS from WinServer - the one I use on my W8.1 computers and the one I'm not able to use on my W10 preview builds, because Win10Server and client builds are not updated in sync, thus new client build is prone to break working deduplication imported from server builds and hacked into the client version - with nasty side-effect of cutting you out from your data on deduped partition. Moreover you stated you have no means of legally getting the needed disms to your software, so I'd be on my own with getting them - what would make Stacker into little more than GUI frontend for the MS Dedup backend - correct me please should my assumptions be wrong here - but until both client and server final versions of Win10 are released or unless MS implements dedup into the former (or ZFS gets native support for WIn:), ZIPmagic, viz. Stacker, isn't going to help me with getting dedup to work on W10, is it?
Thanks for any info on this subject.
